Promising turkish cuisine with one caveat. The service is abysmal – slow and unresponsive. Imagine waiting 40 minutes for a Kunufe during off peak hours (from 2.30pm to 3.10pm). Dear Sofra, if it takes that long to bake one, do let your customers know in advance. This is by no means an isolated incidence either – we saw a diner check his orders several times before finally leaving because he could wait any longer.

The Kunufe was decent, though it could use some salt to balance out all that syrup. It is incredibly sweet and one dimensional, so I found it hard to enjoy anything after the first couple bites. Compared to the ones I tasted in the US, Sofra’s could definitely use some work. That said, I would order it again because hey, who can resist a stretchy cheesey dessert! 🙂
