I don’t know what Sri Lankan food is, so I have no baseline to compare Kotuwa against. Still, it is an impressive restaurant in terms of ambience and food. The shrimp is charred beautifully before being cooked in a sweet tangy sambal. The cashew is very well seasoned, and the Kottu Rotti is an inspiring dish I’ll replicate in the future. Imagine, buying a few pieces of prata, tearing it up and mixing it with shredded chicken, onion, curry and herbs. The lamb curry is not as good as the ones I get from Karu’s. The jackfruit curry is weaker than the ones from Warung Pariaman. Still, as an introduction to Sri Lankan food, I thought it turned out really well.
