Satay-by-the-bay

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

I don’t eat satay enough to differentiate between the good and the bad, but I enjoyed what I ordered, so it must mean the city satay is at least average. As usual, chicken satay is the best, other meats just don’t hold up to the sweet rempah (my personal preference). Guess I will buy some from their Ghim Moh store in the future.

Boon Tat’s bbq was mediocre at best. The stingray tasted sour in a bad way, which is a difficult feat considering that Calamansi limes smell amazing. I didn’t manage to pin point if it was the sambal or the chili that was the problem, but it didn’t help that the sambal tasted run-of-the-mill. At least the stingray wasn’t overcooked.
